Mitacs: Supporting the Canadian Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Through Collaborative R&D Partnerships

Mitacs is a national, independent not-for-profit organization with a mandate to create and support R&D collaborations between academic institutions and industry partners. In today’s session, you will be introduced to the suite of Mitacs programming which provide opportunities for companies of all stages to tap into academic expertise in order to solve real-world challenges and develop highly qualified talent pipelines. Mitacs is especially committed to fostering growth in the Canadian startup ecosystem, with exclusive programming available for early-stage entrepreneurs to scale up their ventures in Canada and international markets.

Title: Business Development Advisor

Bio: Hayley McKay is a Business Development Advisor with Mitacs, a national not-for-profit organization that provides R&D funding to support academic-industry collaborations and international travel. Hayley works closely with professors and students at the University of Toronto and industry partners across the country to build mutually beneficial, long-term research partnerships that drive innovation in Canada.
