Registration is now open for a new offering within U of T’s Intellectual Property Education Program: Level 2 – Patent Strategies.
University of Toronto Entrepreneurship (UTE) has added a specialized Topic to its Level 2 offerings in the IP Education Program, focused on patents in the commercialization process. Developed with Anil Bhole of Bhole Law, a patent lawyer with years of related experience, Level 2 – Patent Strategies will introduce the steps and strategies involved in preparing and filing a patent application, preparing for patent examinations, and building an intellectual property portfolio. It features in-depth new videos and interactive activities and is strongly recommended for entrepreneurs, start-ups, student researchers, faculty and staff who are developing IP and are interested in obtaining patents in Canada, the U.S. and other countries.
Level 2 is freely available to U of T students from all disciplines, as well as post‐doctorate fellows, faculty, staff, and alumni on the Quercus online learning platform. Students can complete the course at their own pace and will take an average of 3-4 hours. Successful completion of Level 2 – Patent Strategies will be recognized on a student’s Co-Curricular Record as a Strategic Thinking credential. Successful completion of multiple Level 2 Topics will result in multiple CCR credentials. Registration is open on a rolling basis. Completion of Level 1 is required to take Level 2.
