ICUBE’s Startup LinkMe Announces Partnership with UTSU

Hi there,

Hope your 2019 has gone well so far! We are excited to announce LinkMe’s partnership with the University of Toronto Student Union that will connect students to diverse in-person therapy options.

The free and easy to use service helps people find therapists based on factors that are often ignored including ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, and specialty. The platform also works with therapists to ensure that an individual can schedule an appointment without having to worry about months of wait times.

The UTSU health plan currently covers up to $2500 in mental health insurance (covering up to $125 per session for up to 20 sessions per policy year). This is incredibly important coverage, as 64% of students reported to feeling overwhelming anxiety and 45% felt so depressed that it was difficult to function over the course of a year. St. George and UTM students can now see the coverage they receive through their UTSU health insurance plan on the LinkMe platform, with hundreds already having done so.

This partnership is another key addition to a few that LinkMe has already developed. Current goals of LinkMe for the future include improving the scheduling process between therapists and those seeking support in order to make it even more accessible for anyone to use.

If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, you can contact the LinkMe team atĀ admin@linkmentalhealth.com.
