DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate Social Enterprise Day with us. Learn and share ideas about making social enterprise strong as can be. \n\n\n\nDid you know that the third Thursday in November is recognized as Social Enterprise Day? It went global in 2017 and we want to celebrate it with you! \nTo grow impact and operate sustainably\, social enterprises require unique resources and support. Keeping this in mind\, we have set up the day to address prevalent issues in planning and running social enterprises. There will also be lots of time to interact with experts and participants of our growing social enterprise community. \n \nThis event is designed for: \n\nFor-profit and non-profit social enterprises\nSocial purpose projects\nFounders\, leaders\, employees and volunteers contributing to these organizations and projects\nIndividuals interested in working with the social enterprise sector\nCommunity leaders working with social and cultural issues\nSocial enterprise and local leaders who want to share their work and ideas\nIndividuals looking to kickstart a new social enterprise idea\nAny field of work or study\n\nRegister today! \n\n\nOn the day: \n9:15 am – Grab a coffee and join us for an introduction \n9:30 am – Workshop 1: Journey from Problem to Solution with Matthew Rempel \n11:00 am  – Workshop 2: Communicating a Powerful Vision and Impact to Stakeholders with Daniel Francavilla \nLunch break \n1:15pm – Workshop 3: Wisdom for Social Enterprise Fundraising and Finance with Marisol Fornoni \n2:45 pm – Learn more about Social Venture Circuit and the local social enterprise support system \nKeynote Speaker – Shelley Kuipers\, Co-Founder/Co-CEO of The51 \n3:30pm – Networking tables open for attendees to interact with local social enterprise supporters/leaders and conference participants \nNetworking tables will be open till 5:00pm \n\n\nABOUT THE PRESENTERS \nMatthew Rempel is a social enterprise development coach and founder of Strategy Made Simple. Matthew provides resources\, workshops\, as well as one on one and small group coaching. His specialties include interviewing and coaching social entrepreneurs to help them clarify the core values of their operation\, and to see the value that they can provide for their clients/customers and towards their social goal. \nDaniel Francavilla is a creative strategist\, consultant\, speaker and mentor making a positive impact. As the founder of Now Creative Group\, Daniel leads a team of creatives and strategists to provide branding and marketing services to startups\, nonprofits and big brands. Daniel is passionate about helping others to create social change and is also the founder of non-profit organization ACCESS\, through which he supports youth who are building their own initiatives for social good. Daniel received both a 40 Under 40 Award and a Business Excellence Award in 2018. \nMarisol Fornoni has worked with non-profits\, social enterprises and incubators across the Greater Toronto Area to diversify their revenue streams and create realistic sustainability plans since 2012. She is an experienced fundraiser and currently works with organizations to implement and test their social enterprise ideas. She has worked with organizations like the Centre for Social Innovation\, Art Reach\, George Brown College and Action Canada for Sexual Health & Right to explore social entrepreneurship.  \nShelley Kuipers is building the world she wants to live in. As an activist in business\, entrepreneurship and investment\, Shelley is hellbent on taking the status quo\, turning it upside down\, then transforming it with more equitable\, feminist\, corporately sound and ecologically sustainable options. Prior to co-founding The51\, Shelley founded crowdsourcing company Chaordix and software development and marketing firm\, Stormworks. She is also currently co-founder of consumer participation company IOVIA\, family office Adventure Capital\, and Harris Kuipers\, a direct to consumer\, 100% sustainable clothing line\, because she also secretly wants to be a fashion designer. \nYOUR HOSTS \nZahra Qureshi is the founder of Social Venture Circuit. After starting her career as an accountant\, she pivoted to bringing her finance experience towards growth and reporting needs specific to the social enterprise sector. She is a qualified CPA\, CMA and has a Level 1 certification in Community Development for Good. \nKerone McWhinney is the Community Development Manager at Social Venture Circuit.
