Teresa is Lecturer and Italian Studies Coordinator at UTM. She received her Ph.D. from U of T in Italian Studies – her areas of interest include Italian neorealist cinema and teaching and learning in higher education. Recently, Teresa received a U of T Technology Grant to create an online textbook for beginner French, Italian, and Spanish learners. Teresa will also convene an international conference, in March 2016, titled “Gastronomy, Culture, and the Arts: A Scholarly Exchange of Epic Portions,” the first of its kind at UTM.
Teresa is dedicated to enhancing the opportunities available to undergraduate and M.A. scholars; as such, she runs courses firmly grounded in Experiential Learning, including the Italian Studies Internship and Theatre and Performance. Upon completing those courses, students’ job placement rate was optimal and several were hired in their fields of interest, which ranged from teaching to health services to translating and subtitle production.
