Nico earned his Ph.D. from the Sloan School of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2006. In 2010, he joined the University of Toronto where he is currently Associate Professor at the UTM Institute for Management and Innovation with a cross appointment at the Rotman School of Management. He is also a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and at the Canadian Centre for Health Economics.
At UTM, Nico teaches classes in Entrepreneurship and the Management of Innovation. His research interests include the economics of innovation, with studies of the research decisions of academic scientists, the commercialization of academic research, and innovation contests.
